Our Gear Cutting workshops comprise some 20 machines, giving us the capacity to manufacture almost any type of gear and associated component in-house, including:

We use highly specialised machinery high volume batchwork and mass production, such as the Sykes V400 Rapid Gear Shaping and the Sykes H150 Rapid Gear Hobber. Quality is of paramount importance to us – we apply “Toolroom Standards” to all the work produced within the factory and a NAMAS Approved Inspector regularly checks all our calibrated equipment.
Need a replacement gear – fast?
Not a problem! In an emergency we can often manufacture replacement gears and components within a few short hours of your order, keeping your downtime costs to an absolute minimum.
To be able to offer this valuable service to our customers, we keep a comprehensive stock of special alloys and nylons in bar, billets and blanks form, avoiding lengthy delays in sourcing materials. We can then manufacture replacement parts very quickly, either from drawings or using the worn or damaged parts as a pattern.

Do you have difficulties holding cigarettes?
Help is at hand with our Smoking Aids for the Disabled. The Smoking Aid is a special aluminium holder, weighing 1½ lb, into which the cigarette is fixed with a 1 metre, flexible tube and mouthpiece connected. The cigarette burns safely down to the holder, where the ash remains.
A disabled user would only require assistance to light the cigarette and have it placed into the Smoking Aid. Additional mouthpieces are available to allow several people to use the ashtray at once.
