When R&N Engineering was first established as a Limited Company in 1966, it was typical of so many new business enterprises – two partners, Don Roper and Fred Nock, two second-hand machine tools, all housed at Company Headquarters – a shed in Don’s back garden!

From such humble beginnings, R&N Engineering has developed and become established as a major and highly respected supplier of precision engineering components, gears and associated components, in addition to being gearbox manufacturers and repairers.

Today, the company occupies 6,000 square feet of offices and workshops at Beckley Hill Works in Lower Higham, between Rochester and Gravesend in Kent, serving customers across the UK and Germany. Our directors still operate a “hands on” approach and we employ over 20 highly skilled specialist engineers, many of whom have been with us for over 10 years.

Our client base now includes a number of major players in market sectors as diverse as Paper, Foods, Aeronautics, Petrochemicals and Pharmaceuticals, in addition to numerous customers within the Engineering Industry generally.

Our sustained levels of investment in plant, equipment and new technology have ensured our capacity to provide our customers with products that meet and exceed the most stringent quality standards. We are a subscribing member of the British Standards Institution and the Federation of Small Businesses.
